Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 42-bed orthopedic unit requiring MO or compact RN licensure and prior Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• 42-bed Medical Surgical unit
• Post-operative orthopaedic, trauma, ortho spine, medicine, and plastics patient population
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 (day) and 1:6 (night)
• Every other weekend required
• Mandatory floating, including as a Patient Observer/Sitter, to MS/Tele units
• 50% holiday coverage required
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration (no pending licenses)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide post-operative care to orthopaedic, trauma, and surgical patients in a fast-paced unit
• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year, with routine exposure to contagious illnesses
• Rotating shifts and work during inclement weather may be required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
