Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) position requiring an active MI license and 2+ years of PACU experience.
Details
- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit of a full-service hospital with a level II trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Monitor and maintain respiratory and cardiac status of patients recovering from anesthesia
- 12-hour day shifts with variable start times between 10a-11a to 10:30p-11:30p
- Occasional weekend coverage required
- On-call required, most likely one night per week with occasional weekend coverage
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required, compact license not accepted
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA)
- 2+ years of PACU experience required
- Skills checklist pertinent to PACU specialty, current within 1 year, required for consideration
- 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services per physician-authorized plan of care
- Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, and responding to alarms
- Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with team to update care plans
- Process and follow up on physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel, though local travelers may only complete one assignment
- No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
