Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Hospice position requiring OASIS and HCHB experience with a minimum of one year of recent hospice or home health nursing experience.
Details
- Home Health/Hospice setting caring for a geriatric patient population
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day with a weekly requirement of 30 visits
- Territory covers up to a 60-mile radius from the hub office
- On-call rotation may be required
- All charting must be completed by 9 AM the following morning
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent hospice or home health nursing experience required
- OASIS experience required for completing Start of Care assessments
- Proficiency in HCHB (Homecare Homebase) EMR required
- Active driver's license and personal transportation required
Additional Information
- Provide end-of-life and palliative care including symptom management, pain assessment, and postmortem care
- Support patients and families with education, counseling, and goal setting throughout the care process
- Address ethical and legal considerations such as advanced directives and medical futility
- iPad provided for documentation; personal cell phone use not required
- Mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
- Dress code requires scrubs of any color; jeans not permitted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 6 months and approved by HR before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Travel pairs accepted, provided each traveler is assigned to their own territory and has independent transportation
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
- Timely communication and documentation are mandatory throughout the assignment
