Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring prior travel experience and pre cardiac cath/port management skills.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit supporting cardiac and neurological patient populations
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Weekend rotation includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period
• Support ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds, with potential float to Observation Units when boarder census is low
• Float required between Edgewood and Florence campuses and to Observation/MS/MS Tele units as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of Telemetry nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with pre cardiac cath care and managing ports required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and MS/Tele patient populations
• Expect to work at least one assigned holiday with limited RTO flexibility
• COVID vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted; natural fingernails required for direct patient care, polish acceptable
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
• Previous per diem, part-time, or full-time staff must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers completing a prior assignment must observe a 90-day system break before returning
• Candidates who have applied for or are in process for a permanent role with the health system within the past 6 months are not eligible
• Strict no-call policy is enforced
