Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring pre cardiac cath and port management skills along with prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment on a Telemetry unit
• Day shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays) over a 6-week period plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays
• Potential for block scheduling, though not guaranteed
• May float between Edgewood and Florence campuses and to Observation, MS, and MS Tele units as needed
• Supports ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds, with floating to observation units when boarder volume is low
• Utilizes Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with pre cardiac cath care and port accessing/management required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Typical patient ratio of 1:5-6

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Support ED boarder patients requiring inpatient-level care
• Only one holiday RTO request permitted
• Strict no-call policy in place
• COVID vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
• No nose rings or gauged earrings; fingernails must be natural, less than 1/4 inch, polish acceptable
• No cafeteria on-site, though refrigerator and microwave are provided
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Returning staff must be away from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers on assignment for 1 year must take a 90-day system break before returning
• Applicants cannot have applied for a permanent role with the health system within the past 6 months
