Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with prior travel and EPIC experience for a night shift assignment supporting cardiac telemetry and ED boarder patients.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for cardiac telemetry patients, including pre/post cardiac cath and port management
• Supports ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds across the system
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Potential to float between Edgewood and Florence campuses, as well as Observation, MS, and MS/Tele units
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with pre cardiac cath care and port management required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and oxygen administration
• Natural, unpolished-free fingernails less than 1/4 inch in length required for direct patient care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response support
• May float within scope to Observation, MS, MS/Tele, and Neuro Stepdown units as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required
• Navy blue scrubs required with no visible agency or brand logos
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
• Only one holiday may be requested off
• Holiday coverage expected
• Strict no-call policy in place
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
• Previous travelers with this facility are not eligible for consideration
• Returning staff must have been separated from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Individuals who have applied for or are in process for a permanent role with the health system within the past 6 months are not eligible
