Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience, telemetry experience, and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a 298-bed teaching hospital
• Unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds depending on specific unit
• Typical patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required, plus holidays if needed
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to any Med/Surg unit required; block scheduling not offered
• Personal scrubs of any color permitted

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand (compact license not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
• Active certifications required in hand at time of consideration: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (American Heart Association)
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Documents required for consideration: Skills Checklist for Medical Surgical experience current within 1 year, one supervisory signed reference from within the past two years, MA RN license, active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg and Telemetry patients on a busy unit within a teaching hospital
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled/needed: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• No more than 5 days of RTO accepted, and all RTO requests must be submitted and verified at the time of consideration; requests made after offer or during interview will not be approved
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Candidates should not be pursuing this assignment in conjunction with another permanent placement or travel assignment
