Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN with active SC or compact license and 2 years of med surg experience for a general surgical and ortho unit requiring frequent floating.

Details

• 29-bed general surgical and ortho unit with medical overflow
• Frequent floating between Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units required
• Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and Med Surg ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Care for general surgical, orthopedic, and medical overflow patients
• Frequent floating within the hospital in rotation with staff based on clinical experience
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Minimal to no RTO approved; any requested time off must be discussed prior to assignment start
