Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 14-bed adult med/cardiac unit treating CHF, post-cath/pacemaker, and COPD patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with 1-2 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage required for up to 4 shifts if needed
• On-call requirement of one standby shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-A certifications required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• At least 1 year of general nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on discharge planning and continuity of care
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional growth opportunities such as charge, preceptor, and clinical ladder roles
