Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit float pool role requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based float pool position covering Progressive Care/Stepdown units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
• May also float to acute care units as needed
• Patient ratios generally 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU units, up to 1:5 on acute care units
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per day at 12 hours each
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited nursing school
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Delivers competent clinical nursing care in coordination with the interdisciplinary care team
• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as needed
• Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Supports unit performance improvement activities and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Reports to and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
