Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a NICU day shift position requiring NICU experience and NRP certification.

Details

  • Work in the NICU/CRT department of a hospital
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
  • Float within the hospital as needed
  • Cares for neonatal and pediatric patients requiring respiratory support

Requirements

  • Active LA license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • NICU experience required
  • BLS and CRT certifications required
  • NRP certification required for RRT-NICU candidates
  • ACLS, NRP, and RRT certifications preferred
  • Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
  • Experience with charting systems required
  • Skilled in neonatal/pediatric ventilator management, intubation assist, CPAP/BiPAP, and oscillating ventilators
  • Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids
  • Proficient in arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
  • One professional reference required
  • Candidate's permanent residence must be greater than 50 miles from the facility
  • Local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients, including high-risk deliveries and inter-departmental transports
  • Manage airway devices, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Participate in ventilator weaning and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
  • Assist with bronchoscopy and chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
  • Orientation includes virtual training on Day 1 and on-site training with EMR education on Days 2 and 3
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Holiday RTO requests should be kept to a minimum
