Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a NICU day shift position requiring NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details
- Work in the NICU/CRT department of a hospital
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
- Float within the hospital as needed
- Cares for neonatal and pediatric patients requiring respiratory support
Requirements
- Active LA license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- NICU experience required
- BLS and CRT certifications required
- NRP certification required for RRT-NICU candidates
- ACLS, NRP, and RRT certifications preferred
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Experience with charting systems required
- Skilled in neonatal/pediatric ventilator management, intubation assist, CPAP/BiPAP, and oscillating ventilators
- Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids
- Proficient in arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
- One professional reference required
- Candidate's permanent residence must be greater than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients, including high-risk deliveries and inter-departmental transports
- Manage airway devices, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Participate in ventilator weaning and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
- Assist with bronchoscopy and chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
- Orientation includes virtual training on Day 1 and on-site training with EMR education on Days 2 and 3
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Holiday RTO requests should be kept to a minimum
