Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Cardiac Telemetry position requiring a HI RN license and acute care experience.
Details
- 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
- Day shift, 0645 to 1915, scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation
- Unit operates 24 hours, Monday through Friday
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Meditech charting, Pyxis medication system, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Floating required to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units as needed
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required, or must apply upon acceptance with license obtained by assignment start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, including at least 1 year of hospital acute care within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide primary nursing care including telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start for a scheduled appointment
- Travelers with a Monday start should plan to arrive in Hawaii the prior Thursday to report to Employee Health Friday morning
- Scrubs required as dress code
- COVID-19 vaccination required
