Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a stepdown unit position requiring an active IL RN license and prior telemetry experience.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Level 2 trauma stepdown Tele Intermediate unit with 26 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 with tech support at 1:9
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• Uses central tele monitoring with common drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitro
• No vents on unit; supports Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow/Vapotherm
• 12-hour night shifts from 7pm-7:30am
• Every other weekend requirement (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Every other holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required with same 1:5 ratio maintained on assigned unit
• 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BSN not required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Negative drug screen required for all panels

Additional Information

• Charge nurse takes a patient assignment
• Hospitalist coverage 7am-5pm with APN and e-hospitalist in-house overnight
• No IV team on unit; nursing does not mix medications
• Floor orientation includes one hospital orientation shift plus two unit orientation shifts (one day, one night)
• No specific scrub color required; clinicians may wear their own scrubs
• No radius rule for eligibility; local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
• COVID vaccination not required
• First-time travelers may be considered
