Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner with an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and NBRC CRT certification for a night shift hospital assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory Care department
• Provides care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations
• Evaluates and treats patients on inpatient units and in the Emergency Department
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting and charge documentation
• Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:30AM
• 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts as needed
• Holiday shifts as needed
• Floating as needed

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• Illinois RCP license required if applicable
• EPIC charting experience required
• Solid understanding of all aspects of respiratory care required

Additional Information

• Performs routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Disassembles, cleans, and prepares respiratory equipment for safe operation
• Completes assessments on ventilator patients and other patients receiving respiratory care services
• Obtains and analyzes arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases
• Documents patient response and compliance with sleep therapy and care plans
• Reports equipment malfunctions and adverse effects to appropriate staff and physicians
• Assists with cleaning and stocking respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates within this radius not accepted
