Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift role requiring 3+ years of ICU experience and proficiency with neuro patient cases.

Details

• ICU setting with a high volume of neuro patient cases
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends based on unit need
• On-call as needed
• May float to other units within scope of practice, and potentially to other campuses (Summit or Herrick) with shuttle service provided and typically 1.5 hours notice
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required; CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ICU RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with neuro/critical care skills including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and TBI management
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring required
• Experience with central line, arterial line, and PICC line management
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with a strong focus on neurological cases
• Must be flexible to float between campuses based on census and staffing needs
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the local rate
• Holiday coverage required with only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Re-orientation only required if separated 6+ months since last shift at this facility
