Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a fast-paced unit specializing in neuro patients on a day shift schedule.
Details
- ICU setting with a high volume of neurological patients
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- EOW required and additional weekends as unit need dictates
- On-call as needed
- May float to other units within scope of practice, and potentially to Summit or Herrick Campus with as little as 1.5 hours notice
- Shuttle provided for campus floating
- Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS certification required; CPI certification preferred
- 3+ years of RN ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with neuro ICU patient populations including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain injury
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and arterial line management
- Experience with central line, PICC line, and blood product administration
- Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex neurological and multisystem needs
- Must be comfortable and proficient managing high-acuity neuro cases
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
- Max RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Re-orientation only required if separated 6+ months since last shift at this facility
