Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care/Stepdown RN for a night shift assignment requiring critical care experience with trachs, vents and drips management.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry setting caring for adults
• Patient population is 50% medical and 50% telemetry
• Typical patient ratio is 4-6:1
• Night shift, 4x12 schedule, 7p-7a
• Weekend work required every other full weekend
• Floating required as needed/customary upon request
• No on-call requirements
• Uses standard nursing equipment on a telemetry unit
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and EKG certifications required
• Minimum 1+ years of recent critical care experience required
• Experience managing trachs, vents, and drips required
• Flu vaccination required November 1-April 1, with only facility-approved exemptions accepted
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Support a 24/7 Stepdown ICU providing critical care nursing including ACLS and EKG interpretation
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full week availability for orientation
• Black scrub color required
• Holiday coverage required for at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be approved per 13-week period, with additional time to be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted, though local candidates are subject to a reduced bill rate and contract restrictions after 3 consecutive 13-week local contracts
• Ideal candidates are team players with superior communication skills focused on positive patient outcomes
