Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a general combined adult/pediatric emergency department, requiring 2+ years of Level III trauma experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 13-week assignment with evening and night shifts (3x12s)
• Evening shift 13:00-23:00 and night shift 17:30-06:00
• Meditech charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active CO state or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience with Level III trauma required
• Level I and II trauma experience also accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with pediatrics, abdominal pain, asthma, and mental/behavioral health conditions
• Experience managing psychiatric holds, acute psychosis, and suicidal patients preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience managing and applying splints and ortho trauma preferred
• Triage experience preferred
• Two supervisor references completed within the past 18 months required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Handle triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum of 10 total RTO days permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Full calendar weeks of RTO are not accepted
