Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of experience with liver transplant/IMC care and a VA or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Work in the Liver Transplant/IMC PCU unit at a hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) or Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) available
- EPIC charting system used
- Float within scope of practice required as needed
- Locals accepted at the same base rate with no radius rules
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submittal
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
- BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate degree graduates from ACEN or CCNE accredited schools accepted
- Prior travel nursing experience required; surgical experience highly preferred for first-time travelers
- Trauma Level I experience required; Trauma Level II and community/teaching hospital experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with central line, PICC line, and blood product administration preferred
- Experience with chest tubes, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring preferred
- Experience with feeding tube care, wound care, and renal failure management preferred
- Experience with surgical drains and post-op surgical care
- Two professional references required (supervisor level or above)
Additional Information
- Provide skilled nursing care to liver transplant and IMC/PCU patients including cardiac monitoring and post-op surgical care
- Requested time off must be submitted at time of application and will be approved by the unit manager; no time off is granted during the first week of assignment
- Facility follows a natural nail policy and is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
- All candidates will complete required orientation modules through the VCU Learning Exchange, to be finished by the Friday of orientation week
- Previous VCU Health employees and travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least twelve months before returning
- Background check review conducted by the facility for all candidates
- First-time travelers are considered, with surgical experience highly preferred
