Description
American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position at a Level I facility, requiring prior CVICU experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Cardiac surgery intensive care unit (CVICU) setting at a Level I facility
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Epic EMR experience required, no exceptions
- Candidates will float within scope of practice if needed
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submittal
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU/CSICU experience at a Level I facility required (3+ years preferred, 5-6 years ideal)
- BSN preferred; diploma, Associate's, or BSN from ACEN or CCNE accredited school accepted
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with conscious sedation preferred
- Experience with pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, and ventilators required
- 2 professional references required (supervisor level or above)
- NURSYS or applicable license verification required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU
- Complete required orientation modules via the facility's Learning Exchange, to be finished by Friday of orientation week
- Natural nail policy enforced at the facility
- Drug and tobacco-free workplace; smoking not permitted on campus
- Background check review conducted by the facility
- Former VCU Health employees (travelers or permanent staff) must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
- RTO requests must be submitted in advance and approved by the unit manager; no time off granted during the first week of assignment; holidays are not guaranteed off
