Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience, EPIC proficiency, and a valid SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for an adult and geriatric patient population with respiratory diseases, infections, dementia, and neurological conditions
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on facility need
• Floating required to other MS/Tele units or facilities based on census needs
• Charge RN present every shift to support unit flow and operations
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC for documentation

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele experience required
• At least 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR required
• Must have MS/Tele competencies and pass an EKG exam
• Skilled in IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, feeding tube management, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to an elderly patient population with varied diagnoses
• Work within a supportive team environment with strong unit teamwork
• Floating to other Prisma Health units or campuses may be required based on staffing needs, limited to competency-verified areas
• Orientation occurs every Monday, with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers may be considered based on relevant experience
• Candidates must be located more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible, with reduced eligibility distances for night shift MS/Tele positions (50+ miles from the contracted campus)
• Travelers cannot extend beyond a third consecutive 13-week contract without transitioning to employee status, or must complete a six-month separation before returning as a traveler
