Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult acute care ICU and ventilator experience for a night shift hospital position.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric patient populations
• Level II basic nursery utilizing bubble CPAP and short-term mechanical ventilation
• Uses Hamilton and Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required outside of scope
• EPIC charting system required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• RRT certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• State license required if applicable
• EPIC charting experience required
• Adult acute care ICU and ventilator experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management
• Care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy
• Neonatal/pediatric respiratory care including bubble CPAP, CPAP/BIPAP, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Perform bedside bronchoscopy and chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
• Ceil blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Candidates must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance and Fit Testing prior to start, which requires shaving for proper mask seal
• CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided and personal use is not permitted; no medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning
• Local candidates within 70 miles are not accepted
• Requests for time off should be submitted in advance, with holiday and weekend rotation participation required
