Description

American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Occupational Therapist specializing in hand therapy, requiring 2+ years of hand experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Outpatient hand therapy setting split between two clinic locations
• 3 days at main outpatient hand clinic and 2 days at an affiliate clinic
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday
• No floating required for this position
• Adult outpatient hand clinic caseload including hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, and reattachments

Requirements

• Active OT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hand therapy required
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Expertise in custom splinting required
• Experience with complex hand trauma and surgeries required
• No new graduates considered

Additional Information

• Perform evaluations, assessments, reassessments, discharge planning, and plan of care documentation
• Utilize modalities including electrical stimulation, paraffin bath, ultrasound, and splinting techniques
• Fabricate functional and static splints using materials such as Orthoplast
• Provide patient and family education as part of treatment plan
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning staff must have a gap of at least 6 months since their last assignment to be eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and should not exceed 2 weeks
