Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a locked incarcerated unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and comfort working with the incarcerated population.

Details

• Work on the Med/Surg Tele unit within a locked incarcerated unit of the hospital
• Requires comfort working with an incarcerated patient population
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Float required to other MS/Tele units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Strict no-call policy in place
• Oncology and cardiac monitoring skills utilized, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN state license or compact multi-state RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI (Management of Assaultive Behavior accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Telemetry work setting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a secured, incarcerated care environment on the MS/Tele unit
• Participate in holiday rotation, working 3 of the following 6 holidays based on assigned group: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged to accommodate personal holiday preferences
• Contract expected to extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage
