Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Surgical Intensive Care Unit position requiring a CA RN license and prior travel experience.

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Weekend rotation required
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
• Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and CVA/acute stroke care
• Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and managing IV insulin protocols
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Manage the care of assigned patients and direct the activities of ancillary staff
• Collaborate with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services to address patients' physical, psycho-social, safety, and rehabilitative needs
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Former employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
