Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift Surgical ICU position requiring a CA RN license and 2+ years of ICU experience.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Weekend rotation required
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, suctioning)
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols
• Proficient in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, managing assigned patients and directing ancillary staff
• Collaborate with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services to address patient and family needs
• Local candidates accepted at a local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role due to required prior travel experience
