Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Acute care setting in a high-volume Emergency Department with 33 beds including 2 trauma bays and 5 psych/seclusion rooms
• Fast-track area available
• Handles 125-140 patients per day with common diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every-other weekend requirement with occasional holiday coverage
• Primary assignment location with potential float requirements throughout the region's other hospitals
• Uses Epic EMR
• 24/7 charge nurse, security, IV team, and respiratory therapy support on the unit
• ED Technicians assist as nurse aides/paramedics
• Both ED physicians and mid-level providers on staff
• Pharmacy coverage available 20 hours per day
• One-day floor-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC, all active and not pending
• Prior completion of at least one travel assignment required
• Experience with ventilator patients and lab draws required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute conditions including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS
• Navy blue scrub top and bottom required
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position; prior travel assignment experience is required
