Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position on night shift, requiring a CO or compact RN license and NRP certification.

Details

• Level III NICU/Nursery setting within an acute care hospital, 52 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
• Common diagnoses include RDS, prematurity, and hypoglycemia
• RT equipment includes ventilators, CPAP, heated high flow, and blended nasal cannula
• Neonatologist and neonatal coverage available 24/7
• Travel RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7p-730a, every other weekend
• Self-scheduling available, with scheduler balancing coverage as needed
• Floating may be required within Zone 1 (PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM) in cases of extreme need

Requirements

• Active CO state or Compact (NLC) RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required, must be active and not pending
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience in Level II and III NICU settings required
• Active certifications and state license verification required prior to consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a range of neonatal patients including premature infants and those with RDS and hypoglycemia
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided in addition to general orientation
• Navy blue scrub color required
• One major winter holiday coverage required per unit needs
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility per state radius policy
• Float Radius Policy applies, requiring travelers to secure housing that allows floating within their assigned zone
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year, though PRN work through outside firms is acceptable
• Local candidates may be considered depending on facility rate policies
