Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU-trained RN for a Neuro IR position within a Level II Trauma Center, requiring stroke team experience and a SD or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Medical Imaging - Interventional Radiology department as part of the Stroke Team
  • Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma, Primary Stroke and Chest Pain Center, and teaching hospital setting
  • 2 Cath Labs and 2 Hybrid Peripheral/OR procedural areas
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Scheduling options include 4x10-hour shifts (0700-1730 or 0800-1830) or 8-hour shifts (0700-1530 or 0730-1600) on call days
  • Call requirement of 1 week on, 2 weeks off
  • No floating required
  • Charge Nurse support available Monday-Friday, 0600-1630
  • Uses Epic (required) and Epic Cupid (preferred) for charting, along with Alaris and Omnicell equipment

Requirements

  • Active RN license (SD or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Skilled in endotracheal ventilation, tracheostomy ventilation through stoma, and ventilator management
  • Experience with vasoactive and sedation drips, and safe use of paralytics
  • Proficient in set-up, troubleshooting, and use of arterial lines
  • Experience with External Ventricular Drains (EVDs), including Camino ICP monitoring
  • Skilled in external pacemaker management, chest tubes, and Swan/Cordis central line catheter use and monitoring
  • Experience with recovery and monitoring of arterial puncture sites
  • Travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be considered

Additional Information

  • Serve as a member of the Neuro IR Stroke Team providing critical care support
  • Procedural scrubs provided
  • Free parking available onsite
  • 4-day orientation consisting of 10-hour shifts
  • First-time travelers will not be considered
  • Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers must live 100+ miles from the facility and local candidates are not accepted
  • Facility is known for renewing traveler contracts
