Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring 3-5 years of experience and strong newborn care and circulating skills.

Details

• Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 4 ORs and 31 beds/rooms
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, and adult recovery services supporting substance recovery
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to Post Partum/Antepartum and to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
• Epic EMR experience required
• Uses electronic fetal monitoring equipment

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• 3-5 years of RN experience required in a high acuity, high pace environment
• High-risk L&D experience strongly preferred, minimum 3 years of high-risk experience considered
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections and perform newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Experience with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate required
• Current Nursys verification required
• Current supervisory references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must respond to questions regarding any prior work history at Providence facilities

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery care including high-risk delivery support, hemorrhage/shock management, and postpartum care
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront and are considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
