Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring Epic experience and AWHONN Advanced certification.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 4 Triage, 11 LDR, 2 OR, NICU & Post-Partum beds
- Supports low and high risk L&D with 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
- Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- 4 weekend shifts per month required (Friday or Saturday nights)
- Mandatory on-call required twice per month in addition to scheduled shifts
- May be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift
- Floating to Perinatal required as needed
- Uses Epic, Allscripts eMD, Omnicell, and SBAR communication system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at submission
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced
- Epic charting experience required
- Allscripts charting experience preferred
- Skilled in external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Able to circulate for C-sections
- References required for consideration
- Must pass an advanced EKG exam (20 questions, 17 rhythm strips, 3 general questions, 45-minute limit, 80% passing score, two attempts allowed)
- Must complete required clinical and non-clinical training modules prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across triage, LDR, OR, and post-partum areas for low and high risk obstetric patients
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Previous staff considered for return assignments on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates with license restrictions, disciplinary actions, or board investigations will not be considered
- RTO must be submitted with the initial application and cannot exceed 3 days total
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- One holiday RTO request may be submitted but is not guaranteed approval
- Must work most holidays during the assignment
- Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
