Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN for a night shift acute care hospital assignment requiring at least 3 years of NICU experience and current CA RN license.
Details
- Level III Neonatal ICU setting within an acute care hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Weekend shifts required
- On-call responsibilities required
- Uses Epic charting system
- May be required to float between sister facilities
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 3 years of Level III NICU experience required
- Required Epic EMR experience
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line blood draws, and administration of blood/blood products
- Experience with UAC and UVC catheter care
- Proficient in neonatal dosage calculations and administration of antibiotics, antivirals, and steroids
- Experience with surfactant administration
- Skilled in APGAR scoring, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries
- Competency in blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia
- Experience with feeding methods including bottle, breast, and gavage, and placement of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
- Skilled in respiratory care including Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and management of chest tubes
- Experience with meconium aspiration and respiratory distress syndrome care
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and neonatal sepsis workups
- Experience caring for neonates 29-34 weeks gestation
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates including high-risk deliveries and specialized respiratory and feeding support
- Facility does not accept local candidates for this position
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with approval based on facility need
- Royal or navy blue scrubs required for RNs
