Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of pediatric ICU experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a children's hospital
• Cares for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and post cardiac catheterization needs
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Float to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital required (hard stop requirement)
• 2 supervisory references required at time of consideration, with at least one manager/supervisor titled reference
• Skilled in ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and airway maintenance
• Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and IV therapy
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, ECMO, post cardiac surgery, VAD, and CRRT preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients including those with congenital heart disease and post-surgical needs
• Floating to other units is a requirement and a point of emphasis for this facility
• Candidates who previously worked a permanent position at this facility must have a 2-year gap before applying
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this role
