Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department requiring prior travel and triage experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 13-week assignment
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
- Cerner EMR used
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
- Must have worked within the past 8 months in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
- Triage experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
- Manage and interpret dysrhythmias in an emergency setting
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel assignment experience required
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
