Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Level IV NICU within a Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Patient ratios of 1:2-4
- Block scheduling required with self-scheduling for 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- Floating between units and sister facilities required
- No on-call requirements
- Contracts longer than 13 weeks may be available for candidates who desire
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, Level III experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products and emergency medications
- Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and nitric oxide therapy preferred
- Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, NEC, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care including respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, neurologic, and endocrine/metabolic support
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Navy scrubs required for RNs
- Free parking available in unrestricted spaces, with bike racks on-site
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a lower bill rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
