Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of experience treating critical and general care adult and pediatric patients.
Details
- Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics-CRT unit
- Treats critical care and general care patients, both adults and pediatrics
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7pm-7am, weekdays with some weekends required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope required as needed, including to sister facilities
- Open to accommodating block schedules, though not guaranteed
Requirements
- RRT or CRT license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NALS certification required for pediatric cases
- First-time travelers accepted
- Pending state license accepted
Additional Information
- Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and oral/nasal suctioning
- Provides tracheostomy care and management
- Administers nebulizer treatments via hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
- Manages oxygen therapy delivery via bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar
- Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Works within adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medically exempt with documentation
- COVID vaccine not required
- Fit test required in advance using an approved mask, which may require travel up to 100 miles
- RTO requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the next schedule and approved by the manager
- Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
- Current employees of the Vandalia Health System are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
- Locals accepted within a 100-mile radius; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
- Free parking garage available for travelers
