Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Endoscopy/PACU RN with a current NY license and phlebotomy/IV placement skills for a hospital-based procedural unit.

Details

• Endoscopy/PACU unit in an inpatient and outpatient endoscopy center setting
• Patient population includes procedural cases such as pancreatic, lung, colon, and gastric cancer, polyps, Barrett's esophagus, and CBD stones/strictures/cancer
• Performs and supports special procedures including EUS, ERCP, Navigational Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Manometry, and Fibroscan
• Utilizes specialized equipment including ERBE, Olympus scopes/processors, Super-D, Bravo, VCE, and Manometry equipment
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with varying days off based on department needs
• On-call requirements include weeknights, weekends, and holidays approximately 4-6 shifts per month
• Floating required to PreAnesthesia/PACU as needed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CGRN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Skilled in administering, monitoring, and recovering patients from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
• Experience with airway management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with procedures including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, esophageal varices and banding, and sclerotherapy
• Experience with specimen handling/labeling and specialized equipment such as balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, forceps, and polyp snares
• Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience administering medications including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provides pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure care for endoscopy and pulmonary procedure patients
• Navy/white scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must have a 6-month system-wide break in service before reapplying
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
