Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a VA or compact RN license and prior tele experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit setting with 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00)
• 36/36 or 36/48 schedules available
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA is the only accepted certification form)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team use, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete drug testing 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
