Description
American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring circulate skills and prior Level 1 or 2 trauma OR experience.
Details
- Level 1 Trauma Center with a 25-bed Operating Room unit
- Handles 60-70 cases with heavy focus on Ortho, Spine, and Neuro, along with other service lines
- No Cardiac or Transplant cases performed on this unit
- Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic for charting
- Mids shift, 4x10s with variable start times of 0845 or 1045
- Weekend work required with scheduling flexibility expected (Sunday night not considered a weekend shift by facility)
- No on-call requirements
- No floating outside of scope
- Facility-provided scrubs
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, 3-4 years preferred
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred, Level 2 Trauma experience required
- Neuro surgical experience required
- Circulate skills required
- Epic charting experience required
- Compact license holders must apply for WA license and/or complete 6-hour suicide prevention training and submit demographic data through the WA BON site
- Two references required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Circulate for a wide range of surgical specialties including Vascular, Neuro, Trauma, Orthopedic, General Surgery, Urology, Robotics, ENT, Plastics, Thoracic, and Oral surgery
- Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status and 500 staffed beds
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Facility highly prefers travelers to work Christmas as part of holiday coverage
- Holiday RTO limited to 1 of 3 major holidays, plus up to 3 additional non-holiday RTO days outside peak blackout dates (11/22-12/1, 12/22-12/27, 12/28-1/5)
- RTO limited to no more than 6 days total, with none accommodated during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
- Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travefler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
