Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross only)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Prior experience with 1:4-5 patient ratios required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• At least 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience managing pediatric and adult emergency conditions including asthma, seizures, abdominal pain, and psychiatric emergencies
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of vascular access devices
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs preferred
• Experience with splint application and orthopedic care

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and dysrhythmias
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE protocols appropriately
• Navy scrub color required
• RTO limited to one request per contract
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Previous permanent employees eligible to return as travelers after 1 year of separation
