Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU/Peds position at a children's hospital, requiring RRT/CRT and 2+ years of pediatric-only respiratory therapy experience.
Details
- Children's hospital setting with 247 licensed beds, Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, and Level IV NICU
- Teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center designations
- Provides respiratory care for pediatric patients throughout the facility, covering neonate to pediatric age ranges
- Areas of care include ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
- Uses IPPV/NIPPV ventilators
- EPIC EMR experience preferred; testing out of EPIC available for faster onboarding
- 12-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No call requirements
- No floating to other facilities due to specialty needs
Requirements
- RRT or CRT certification required
- NC state license required if applicable
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years Respiratory Therapy experience on a Resource Team with combined pediatric unit experience in the past 5 years
- Experience must be from peds-only assignments, not mixed age populations
- IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy support across pediatric units including ED, ICU, and general floors as needed
- Supported by Respiratory Leadership team
- Orientation includes 3 days of onboarding for ED and general floor, plus 1 additional day per specialty ICU unit if applicable
- Orientation includes 2 days of computer training, equipment familiarization, and facility tour
- Holiday expectations require working 75% of holidays
- RTO of up to 6 days may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the contract
- Schedule follows a 6-week cycle
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
