Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• 26-bed step-down unit from ICU with all private rooms
• Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1
• All patients on telemetry with heart monitors and critical drips
• Patient population ranges from GI bleed to COVID or respiratory distress cases
• Evening shift schedule, 7p-7a, 3x12 (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required per department compliance
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination with Case Management
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention
• Promote a positive, healing environment through collaborative teamwork and communication
