Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric CVICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring PALS certification and prior pediatric cardiovascular ICU experience.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU and 12-bed overflow unit
- Patient population includes congenital heart disease/defects, post-surgical repair, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant, and VAD patients
- Age range spans neonatal through young adult, with occasional adult CHD patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU status and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU overflow patients
- Day shift schedule from 07:00-19:30
- 13-week contract length
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, PALS, and ACLS (AHA required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience required
- Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiac patients across a wide age range and acuity level
- Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
- Travelers should discuss extension opportunities with their manager approximately 45 days before assignment end date
