Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift acute care position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Care for patients with heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, GI bleeds, strokes, TPA administration, post-code, and pneumonia cases
• Titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
• RNs are required to read telemetry strips using Spacelabs equipment as there are no dedicated tele/monitor techs
• Support staff includes 1 CNA per shift, 24/7 on-site Hospitalist, 24/7 telehealth Intensivist, and 24/7 Respiratory Therapy coverage
• RT equipment on unit includes vents, high flow, and BiPAP
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
• Weekend rotation required as needed, aiming for every other weekend
• Floating required to Tele unit (attempting to keep 1:3 ratio) and to Meridian and Boise ICUs
• No call or standby requirements
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Active RN license (ID state or compact) required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Must be a strong team player
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided depending on experience
• Scrubs may be any color as long as clean and professional
• Holiday coverage required if there is a unit need
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent employees must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Client may cancel up to 4 shifts over the 13-week assignment
