Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring KY or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department setting with 64 patient care areas and 250+ patients seen daily
• RN to patient ratio of 4:1 with ED Techs on staff
• 3x12 evening shift schedule, 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee care team members' performance of patient care activities
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures tracking
• Promote a healing, patient-centered environment consistent with evidence-based nursing practice
