Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk OB unit requiring at least 2 years of recent L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital handling 200-300 births per month
- High-risk OB patient population including antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and mother/baby couplet care
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 couplets
- Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (3x12), with start times of 3am/3pm or 11am/11pm
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required for scheduled shifts if cancelled
- Floating to other units and sister facilities within the health system based on skill set and needs
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required
- Active RN license (Compact preferred) in hand at time of submission
- BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with high-risk OB care, fetal monitoring, and management of pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and use of infusion pumps required
- Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and neonatal resuscitation preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care including fetal monitoring, medication administration, and newborn assessment
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures as needed
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Scrub attire provided for L&D unit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning former employees must wait at least 3 months and reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required prior to start
