Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a night shift position requiring NIHSS proficiency and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a short term acute care, Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Care for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required between units and potentially between sister facilities
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficiency in caring for post-surgical neurology and craniotomy patients, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tubes preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Epic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for compliance

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown level nursing care to a post-surgical and diagnostic neurology patient population
• Scrub color is any color for RNs
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO changes may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem)
