Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a Level II Trauma Center, ideal for first-time travelers with at least one year of telemetry/neuro experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Care for post-surgical neurology and various neurology diagnosis patients, including CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating between units required, with potential floating to sister facilities
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/neuro RN experience required
• Experience with NIH Stroke Scale and post-surgical neurology patient care required
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Epic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response to cardiac and neuro patients
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color for RNs is any color
• No parking fees at this facility
