Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a Level II Trauma Center, ideal for first-time travelers with at least one year of experience.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
- Neurology patient population including post-surgical, CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between units required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
- Experience caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring preferred
- Two professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring for cardiac dysrhythmias and neuro stepdown needs
- May float between sister facilities near the contracted site
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Any color scrubs accepted for RNs
- No fee for parking
