Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring prior travel experience and CEN preferred.
Details
- Emergency Department setting at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
- High acuity patient population including oncology, cardiology, transplant history, and VAD patients
- Non-trauma unit with a small pediatric population and significant psych/behavioral health caseload
- 27 ED rooms with ability to flex into hallway beds and a vertical care area staffed by EMS
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
- Weekend requirements apply unless otherwise noted on schedule
- Floating required within the hospital, but not to sister facilities
- EPIC charting system used
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of general ED experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
- CEN certification preferred
- Skills in respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
- Experience with care of ventilated patients, ICP monitoring, and pulmonary artery lines preferred
- Strong references from Manager or Director level supervisors preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a diverse and high acuity patient population
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with no time off accommodated during orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a travel candidate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Scrubs may be any color
